Crenulata has a unique heart-shaped leaf, generally about 1-2 cm long and 1-2 cm wide. The leaf has a serated edge with a soft feel. They grow in pairs opposite one another up the stem. The colour of the fresh leaf is a strong green and a lighter green on the underside.
